Alabama Hills California Engagement

The Alabama Hills are a real hidden gem in California. Nestled in between Sequoia National Park and Death Valley, Alabama hills has some of the most unique landscape that makes for really interesting photos. The Sierras dominate the horizon with Mount Whitney at the forefront, and crumbly brown granite hills and boulders take up the desert foreground. Gabbie and Matt traveled all the way from Orange County to meet me out in the middle of nowhere in the desert, but it was totally worth it. There was no one else around when we took these photos, and it was amazing. We jumped over boulders, played in the wind, marveled at the mountain peaks, and took in the little bit of sunset we got on this cloudy day. It was supposed to be 106 degrees, but luckily, the weather turned cloudy and windy, so we didn’t melt in the sand, which we were all grateful for. Prior to this shoot, I ran around the same mountains on the other side in Yosemite, and played in the desert of Joshua Tree afterward. The trip to California and the lead up to this shoot was a little chaotic, so I’m glad that this shoot turned out so well and Gabbie and Matt were so easy to work with. it seems like all the couples I meet that say they’re awkward in front of the camera always end up being so easy going and fun, making for some of the best photos.
