Breckenridge Surprise Proposal

Colson reached out to me wanting to surprise his girlfriend, Sam, with a trip out to Colorado from Texas, so he could propose to her in the mountains. Sam got ready in the morning, thinking she was going to work, and Colson told her that they were boarding a plane instead. She had no idea where the plane was going, where they were driving after, or what the plan was for the rest of the trip. Colson took Sam up to a little lake in the mountains outside of Breckenridge, where I was hanging out, ready to snap photos of him getting down on one knee. After reading a letter he wrote to Sam, Colson got down on one knee and presented Sam with a ring. After a bunch of crying and screaming “OH MY GOD!! WHAT??!” Colson and Sam popped some champagne I brought for them to celebrate. We wandered around the woods and talked about the happenings of the day, taking photos and twirling around at the base of the peaks before we got rained out by a freak spring storm. Colson went totally over-the-top, while still keeping his proposal sweet, intimate, and specially catered for Sam. I still smile every time I think about this day and the role I got to play in all of it.
