Breckenridge Winter Elopement

Emily and Arinze, like so many of my couples, are from Texas. Arinze, however, is originally from Nigeria. Because of Covid and all the travel restrictions that have been implemented, it made it really difficult for his family to come all the way over to the US from Nigeria. Emily and Arinze also just wanted something intimate and low-key, and didn’t want to deal with all the stress of a large wedding, so they decided to elope with just the two of them. Emily’s family still got to come to Breckenridge and see her in her dress and celebrate afterwards, but because Arinze’s family wouldn’t be present and also because they wanted to have a special moment alone, they decided their vows and ceremony would be reserved just for them. We drove (more accurately, I drove, because they weren’t used to driving on snowy, windy mountain passes, lol) to the top of Loveland Pass, so they could say their handwritten vows to one another without anyone else around. The wind was frigid, but the scenery was so beautiful. We decided to adventure around other places in the area that were a little less freezing to do a little champagne pop and a first dance. Despite with winter of 2021 being so dry, Emily and Arinze still got a little bit of snowfall for their day, and the clouds parted just a bit at the end to give us a little sunset, too. Everything about their day was simple and sweet- just quality time spent with one another in the beautiful mountains of Colorado, declaring their love for one another.

Emily’s lovely dress is a Hayley Paige from Second Summer Bride in Austin. It was actually pretty difficult to find a florist that would just provide a bouquet and other small florals, but Woodland Breck came through with the prettiest arrangements. The local shop Breck Hair also came through with a little half up-do and makeup for just Emily, and Mom’s Baking Co. provided the cake. Arinze’s all about style, and he was really excited about stunting his Doc Martens and Cartier ring. His suit is from Hockerty and the tie is Brooks Brothers.
