Breckenridge Elopement in Winter

Pete and Bre both live in Texas and decided to jump the broom (literally) in the mountains around Breckenridge with both their mamas. Pete’s dad passed recently, so he wore pink socks just like his dad did on his own wedding. Bre’s mom raised her, and she wore her mom’s fur coat to keep warm in the windy Colorado winter. To keep other friends and family involved in their elopement, Pete and his mom Facetimed his brother, and Bre read letters from their friends out loud before the ceremony. We all packed in a car and headed up to Blue Lakes near Breck thinking it would be a good alternative to Loveland Pass, because it might be less windy and frigid- we were wrong. We were all laughing and screaming from the crazy wind up at the ceremony site where Pete and Bre said their handwritten vows and then jumped a broom. We drove down the mountain a bit to get somewhere less windy to pop some champagne and take some more photos that wasn’t quite so miserably windy. After the sun had set, we headed back to Breck to have a private dinner, cake cutting, license signing, and little first dance at a little outdoor igloo structure at Gravity Haus. It was a simple day full of family heirlooms, mama love, DIY decor, cake, and bouquets, and it was perfect for the low-key people that Pete and Bre are.
