Costa Rica Beach Elopement

I got the opportunity to capture elopement photos for Linda and Rocky at a beautiful beach (literally, it’s called Playa Hermosa) near Jáco, Costa Rica. Costa Rica is honestly just like a less expensive version of Hawaii, there’s volcanos, bright blue river water, crazy cool wildlife, waterfalls all over, jungle, and black sand beaches like the one we visited. We spent our time at Playa Hermosa saying hi to the pig that lives at Bowie’s Point, watching surfers ride the waves, and playing in the water. Almost every sunset on the Costa Rican coast is stunning with the mixture of sea spray in the air as well as the occasional volcanic debris that make the sun a striking red as it sinks. I don’t get very many opportunities to photograph on the coast since so much of my time is spent in the mountains, but every chance I get to play by the ocean is a totally new experience working with the fun colors and effects the light has on the coats that’s so different from being in Colorado. I can’t wait to photograph more couples in wild places like Costa Rica in the future.
